Clay Taster Session
Join me for a relaxing and fun evening getting your hands dirty and learning how to hand build with clay.
This class is suitable for those who have little or no previous experience with clay. It’s a good chance to learn the basics and experiment with different ways to hand build.

The class will be held in my studio in Deptford, SE London. You’ll have the studio to yourselves and personalised tuition. Max four people per session so you’ll all have plenty of help and guidance.
What will happen on the day:
I'll give a short introduction to the studio.
We'll talk through the types of clay and I'll demonstrate hand-building techniques.
You'll grab some clay and get making, I'll answer any questions and put the kettle on for us!
What's included in the class:
All clay, materials and firings are included. Coffee and Tea will be available throughout the session. At the end of the class you choose the piece you'd like to keep. I’ll glaze it in white and fire it for you. It will be ready to collect within 4-6 weeks. If you prefer for it to be posted, a small fee will apply.
What to wear:
Anything comfortable which you're happy to get messy in.

Cancellation / Refunds:
Classes are non-refundable and non-transferable, so please make sure you can make the day before you book. Thanks for your understanding. If I need to cancel a session I’ll re-arrange or refund it in full for you, whichever you prefer. If you arrive more than 30 min after the scheduled start of your class it will be cancelled and not be rescheduled/refunded.
1-2-1 Lessons
Want some private tuition? This one’s for you. Come learn how to hand build in 2hr sessions 1-2-1.
I’m very happy to offer one-to-one sessions if you’d like to tailor your learning and get maximum flexibility. It means we can decide together what you learn and how much time you spend on each hand building technique. We’ll talk through what you’d like to try or go through a few different techniques (coiling, pinch pots, slab building) so you can discover them all.
No experience is needed; you can be a total beginner or someone who’s tried a little pottery before.
Included is all the materials, glaze and firing of your work. There is currently a range of 5 glazes to choose from. If you book a single session, then I’ll glaze and fire your work for you. You can choose 2 pieces for each session you’ve booked to have fired. If you book 2 or more sessions, we can use the final session for you to glaze your own work if you’d like to try this (it is fun!), but it’s totally up to you! If you don’t fancy glazing, I’ll glaze your work for you.
Coffee and tea will be available throughout. Occasionally I manage to bring some home baking for us.
After your last session, your work will have its final firing and is usually ready to collect from my studio in 4-6 weeks.

This is a hand-building course and does not include throwing on the wheel.
Clay can be messy, so please wear clothes and shoes that you’re happy to get a little mucky in.
